Days 1-2

And we're off!
The first four days of our trip were focused on driving long distances to get us to the Canadian Rockies as soon as possible. On our first day we departed San Jose at 7:00 AM (ugh!) and drove about 400 miles to Klamath Falls, Oregon. On the way we stopped in Winters, CA for lunch at the Putah Creek Cafe.

The next day we continued on Hwy 97 on thru Oregon and into Washington. This allowed us to add a new state to our trailer's map!

As we drove thru Oregon and Washington the air progressively became more polluted from wildfires that were blazing nearby.

Our destination for this second night was the Wilridge Winery in Yakima, Washington. This was a Harvest Host and we were allowed to camp the night in their vineyard!

Tomorrow will be another long day as we cross into British Columbia!
We drove primarily on Interstate-5, but as we crossed the Oregon border we exited I-5 on to Hwy 97, which took us into Klamath Falls. Once we got off of I-5 we felt more relaxed. Our route would have us staying on Hwy 97 northbound all through Oregon, Washington and even into British Columbia! Here's a picture of us following Allan and Patricia. We stayed at an RV Campground in the Klamath Falls Fairgrounds, which was nice and clean.
