Day 19-20
Escondido to Faria Beach

These last two destinations on our trip are to experience some beachfront camping. Both Susan and I really enjoy the times that we can get a campsite near (or even better, on) the beach. We like the beach 'vibe as well as the cool restaurant "shacks", and Hobbs absolutely loves it when we can find a "dog-friendly" beach where he can run free and frolic in the surf and with other dogs. So, we're ending our trip on a high-note with four days of beachfront camping. The first two days are at Faria Beach which is managed by the county of Ventura. We have never stayed here before, but had heard that it is a wonderful place to camp on the beach with a dog-friendly beach nearby. With our advanced-planning for this trip we were fortunate enough to snag a campsite for two nights.

And then we spent the next day with all kinds of animals.

We were curious if the recommendations were justified, and we were pleased to say they were! This place is perfect for us!

We also had our truck bed checked out by a raccoon during the night. The next morning his muddy footprints showed where he crawled over the tailgate, looked around for food, and finding none, crawled back over the tailgate. No damage done by the little guy.

As we sat overlooking the ocean, this pod of dolphins cruised by. First heading south, and then heading back north.
This seagull landed nearby to check us out.
And we dined at a nearby snack shack at Hobson Park, where I said hello to a local cutie.
It was a very enjoyable stay and we will definately be back soon. Tomorrow we head further up the coast to Avila Beach for some more beach camping.
