Days 26 & 27
Green Bay, Wisconsin on to St. Ignace, Michigan.
Our campground was very nice and right on Lake Michigan. We didn't have a view of the lake, but I went exploring on my ebike and snapped this picture of it.
We signed up for a walking tour of Lambeau Field. Although Susan and I are loyal fans of the San Francisco 49ers, we still found this tour very enjoyable. I didn't realize that the Packers don't have a billionaire owner like most other NFL teams. Instead, they are owned by the fans via stock shares. This ensures that they won't be abandoning their fan base, (much like the Raiders have done repeatedly.) This public ownership extends to the stadium as well, and it is always open for the fans to stroll around, buy items and enjoy meals. It is quite a showpiece, starting with this 50 foot tall statue of the Lombardi Trophy.
We enjoyed the Packers Hall of Fame.
But don't worry, we're still loyal to our beloved 'Niners.
And got to walk out the Packer tunnel onto the field.
Tomorrow we head north and east into the upper peninsula of Michigan.
We enjoyed a nice lunch at their on-site 1919 Kitchen & Tap Restuarant.
