Days 23-25

Adrian to Centerville, Minnesota, and then on to Green Bay, Wisconsin

We were happy to pull into our campground in Centerville, Minnesota, where we would be staying for two nights. We noticed how green everything is in Minnesota. There's a reason California is called the "Golden State" - everything turns golden brown due to the lack of rain from May thru October. Minnesota has so much water that it's known as the "Land of 10,000 Lakes," and we passed many of them along our drive. Our campsite was in a recreation area that included about six very pretty lakes. The area included extensive bike paths, and I enjoyed checking out the area on my ebike. Here's a shot of one of the lakes with its water ski jump.

The locals seem to really enjoy how beautiful their flowers can grow and put them on display on many street corners. Minnesota is also known for its mosquitoes, and we were bothered by little buggers for the first time on this trip. John smashed one on the side of the trailer and is determined to leave the splat mark there for the duration of the trip as a warning to its brothers and sisters!

We cruised around the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul which included a stop at the Mall of America. This mall holds the claim of the largest shopping mall in the USA and it even has a full Nickelodeon theme park within its walls. Our grandson, Maxx, and his parents had traveled to Minneapolis earlier this year for a hockey tournament and had spent time at the theme park. Maxx suggested that Susan I should definitely ride the Drop Zone ride. I don't think so, Maxx!

Tomorrow we'll check out Lambeau Field!

We pressed on into Wisconsin and crossed the state to it's watery border with Lake Michigan at the town of Green Bay. We saw plenty of corn fields often bordered with beautiful wild flowers. We also saw many grain silos. Surprisingly, we didn't see very many cows!
