Days 2 & 3

Verdi to Winnemucca Nevada and then on to Boise, Idaho

My post content

The air was still hazy from the fires as we drove from Verdi to Winnemucca. The view didn't change much. We had some unwanted excitement at a gas station fillup when I noticed that the plug connecting the trailer to the truck had fallen out and had been dragging on the road for many miles. I had noticed previously that it fit loosely into the socket, while you really want it to fit tightly. Now it REALLY is fitting loosely and possibly not making connections at all. We began looking for RV Supply stores along the way but couldn't find anything until we got to Winnemucca, where there was a Walmart. Walmart has everything! I was able to purchase a replacement and I installed it that evening.

We left Winnemucca and headed north into eastern Oregon and then into Idaho. (Two more state stickers for our map!) The scenery began to turn greener and we began seeing lots of farm fields, primarily corn. The corn looked very healthy and abundant. The outside temperature climbed as we got closer to Boise and hit 107° F. (That's -267 degrees Kelvin for those that don't like Fahrenheit.) Setting up the rig in that heat wasn't appealing so we headed out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant and bided our time until things cooled down a bit.

Our plans are to stay in Boise for two days and visit with our good friends, Greg & Daphne, who now live here.
