Day 9

Glacier National Park, Montana Going to the Sun Road

Glacier Nat'l Park is a spectacular park with many sights that are not to be missed. One way to see many of these sights is taking the Going to the Sun road. This is such a popular activity that the NPS requires an advance reservation for prime-time hours. We were lucky to have obtained a reservation and today was our day to enjoy this scenic drive. Susan snapped several pictures along the way. The fires taking place in the Western US are still causing a haze to hang in the sky, unfortunately.

If you visit western Montana you'll learn that huckleberries are a BIG DEAL here. Every store and restuarant seems to be promoting their huckleberry offerings (jams, jellies, croissants, ice cream ...) Susan tried one of their ice creams and said it was very tasty!
