Day 21 and home

Our drive west across the rest of Nevada was eventless. We stayed at a campground in Verdi, which is just on the Nevada side of the California border.
The next day was our final day of the trip as we headed home. This picture was taken as we climbed elevation on our way to Truckee. There was some kind of police activity ahead causing stop-and-go traffic for a while, which gave me time to snap this picture showing the Truckee River off to the left.
We made sure to top off our gas in Nevada before entering California, where gas prices are much higher. It's about 250 miles from Verdi to home and we arrived about 3 PM. Ending mileage was 142,621, so our trip added 3177 to the truck's odometer.
Epilogue: We had a wonderful trip with zero mechanical issues with either the truck or the trailer. The weather was about as good as it gets - except for the smokey skies from nearby forest fires that first week. Traveling with another couple was a lot of fun and added another dynamic to the trip. We enjoyed our shared meals, whether in restaurants or back at our rigs. And Susan and I enjoyed playing cards with Patricia, while Allan tried to ignore our pleas to join us. Bringing Hobbs along also added another dynamic to our trip. It's always nice to have him with us, but we also had to make sure he was taken care-of and was getting plenty of exercise. I know the long driving days must have been tough on him, but he seemed to adapt to the routine, and especially enjoyed the days that were dedicated to him.
Once again, Susan and I conclude this RV trip with the desire to embark on another one soon. We're already in the early stages of planning. So, you'll just have to stay tuned!
Thanks for following along in our journey!
